Saturdays Boston Glazier Coaches Clinic was another great experience. We had over 200 committed coaches in attendance in probably the loudest and most engaging crowds I’ve ever spoken to, what a great group.

Boston Area Football

Massachusetts football is a unique institution, with their big High School game rivalries playing on Thanksgiving morning every year and renegade Pop Warner team Dorchester making headlines.  Just think about Thanksgiving for the 18 year old Boston High School student. They get up at the break of dawn, go play in front of a huge crowd against their cross-town rival, then go home and fill up on turkey, followed by a nice nap and an afternoon of watching football on TV. That is what I call the ultimate football trifecta.

I saw lots of familiar faces in the crowd, back for more after last years clinic. It was very fulfilling hearing the story about the team from Nashua that went from 1-7 to 8-0 last year and outscored their opposition 256-7 using the system. I had 4-5 guys come forward with the same stories. Lot’s of long distance travelers at this one with lots of coaches from Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maine and even Ottawa Canada.

Next year we may be back or clinic in nearby Providence, Rhode Island.

Great to see friends Tom Lapierre sitting in the front row again as always along with long time e-mailer Erik Brynjolfsson.  I answer every e-mail with 48 hours and many of these guys I’ve traded dozens of e-mails with over the years. Odd as it may seem, over time you start to feel like you know someone, even when the only contact is via e-mail. Special thanks to my friend Ramon Miranda for his help in the clinic.
